Project Japan
Japan, located off the eastern coast of China, is a country of islands. Home to 127 million people, it is a land where ancient tradition meets modern technology. Commonly recognized for things like sushi, geisha, and socks with flip-flops, this country has a vast array of differences "exotic" or even "odd" to the western mind.

Of these 127 milliion Japanese people, many will not claim a particular religion. However, the majority observe or practice Shinto and/or Buddhist beliefs. They value their traditions, customs and superstitions. They have a great reverence for their loved ones who have passed on, and their ancestors.

When thinking of unreached people and the need for the Gospel, countries like China, India, the Congo, Thailand come to mind. Japan has a growing need to hear the Gospel. Less than 1% of their population claim to be Christian, thus making the Japanese one of the largest unreached people groups, if not the largest. The ground can be rough for missionaries trying to share the Gospel, but God has called workers to the harvest.

In January of 2009, I am planning a trip to Japan to research and investigate the country to see about working in the country. I will also be attending a conference in Indonesia, and being in the "neighborhood", will be hopping on over to Japan to
meet workers there and to find answers to questions of culture, Gospel-sharing strategies, as well as how to prepare myself before making such a move.

Currently, it looks like this trip would cost about $4000-$5000, including all expenses. I am praying God will provide the money. Would you consider if God is moving on your heart to make a donation to these efforts?

If God has moved on your heart to make a donation, it can be done in the following manner:

- Write a check to World Indigenous Missions for the amount that you desire to donate. My name should ONLY be on a note that will accompany the check-- not any where on check. This is for your tax benefit. On the note, you can write Janine Geekie, (Agent) 233. Mail this check to: World Indigenous Missions P.O. Box 310627 New Braunfels, TX 78131-0627

In following these directions, you will not have to worry about if your donation will arrive. You can send me an email at janine@northwestfoursquare.com to let me know of your donation, and that it is particularly for the Japan trip, if you wish.

- You can also visit www.worldim.com, click on "Give", and fill out the information given. I am branch #233. Payment options are by credit card or by PayPal. Easy as that! Again, should you desire, you can send that email to notify me.
